Artist Statement

I am a contemporary artist drawn to reinterpretation—absorbing the world around me and transforming it into layered visual narratives. My work draws from surrealism, mythology, memory, often compositions filled with veiled figures, fractured identities, and symbolic objects. Patterns, textures, and tribal or ethnic influences surface throughout, while saturated colors and fragmented forms invite viewers into dreamlike realms of archetype and emotion.

Embracing a wide range of tools—from traditional drawing instruments and painterly mediums to photography, found objects, digital drawing and manipulation, and occasional AI influences—I thrive on variety. Sometimes, I weave all of them into a single piece, layering processes until the work feels fully realized. Some works are bold and confrontational; others play with humor or subtle sass. Abstraction pushes forward when it must, demanding space alongside figuration. No matter the form, each piece begins with intention and evolves through curiosity, intuition, and risk.

A strong foundation in commercial art—through both training and career—has shaped the precision and visual clarity often recognized in my fine art. That background lends a polished sensibility to even my most experimental compositions.

At heart, I’m a reinterpreter—layering fragments of the familiar into stories that surprise, challenge, and connect. My hope is always to provoke reflection, not only on what is seen, but on what is stirred beneath the surface.
