About & Philosophy

A 50-Year Creative Journey

My creative path began in the 1970s. It has been a 50-year evolution, shaped by 30 years as a professional graphic designer and a subsequent return to fine art painting. Today, my work is built on a lifetime of daily practice, a deep love for art history, and five decades of solving visual puzzles.

My Process: Combining Hand and Digital Tools

My style sits at the intersection of structured logic and painterly freedom. I call it Graphic Surrealism—an approach featuring rhythmic patterns and unexpected shapes that tell a story.

I use a hybrid process, utilizing digital tools as a modern sketchbook to refine shapes by hand. These ideas either become finished digital pieces or blueprints for paint on canvas. I don't rely on formulas; I trust my instincts and let compositions evolve naturally.

The Physical Reality of Art

A screen can show an image, but it cannot replace standing face-to-face with a painting. My work is designed to be lived with, revealing textures as the day’s light shifts.
